VBKOM was founded in 2008 by five mining engineers with the goal of delivering expert technical mining consulting services to clients across Africa and the world. VBKOM is dedicated to continuously expanding their services and geographical reach to offer true value to clients in the mining and other capital-intensive industries.

VBKOM is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. Bursaries are available for studies in the following fields:
- Geology
- Industrial Engineering
- Metallurgy
- Mining Engineering
More About the VBKOM Bursary Programme – Expenses Covered & Selection
The bursary covers:
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees
- Accommodation
Bursary recipients will also have the chance to gain valuable vacation work experience and exposure at VBKOM’s discretion.
The bursary is renewable each year, and students must submit their semester marks for review.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited to attend an interview. If you do not receive any feedback, please consider your application unsuccessful.
Eligibility Requirements for the VBKOM Bursary
To apply, you must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Have completed Matric
- Be studying towards a qualification in one of the listed fields
- Be in your 2nd or higher year of study
- Have achieved a minimum overall average of 60%
- Be hard-working and inquisitive
