The Trans-Caledon Tunnel Authority (TCTA), located in Centurion, is a state-owned entity focused on bulk water supply development. Their mission is to be a leader in providing sustainable water and ensuring water security through planning, financing, and implementing raw water infrastructure projects in their region.
TCTA was originally established to manage the Lesotho Highlands Water Project. Their services include project design, project management, treasury management, knowledge management, debt management, implementation of bulk raw water infrastructure, and structuring and raising project finance.

About the TCTA Bursary Programme – Fields Covered
TCTA is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. Bursaries are available for academically deserving students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue the following undergraduate degree qualifications:
- Auditing (Degree or BTech)
- Environmental Science / Environmental Management, Environmental Law (BSc or BTech)
- Financial Management / Treasury & Investment, Economics (Bachelor of Commerce)

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by TCTA and invited for an interview.
Eligibility Requirements for the TCTA Bursary
To apply, you need to meet these criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be under 35 years old
- Be currently in Matric (in 2024) or have completed Matric with university entrance
- Have achieved a minimum of 60% in English, Science, and Mathematics in Matric
- Be studying or planning to study full-time towards one of the listed undergraduate degree qualifications
- Be studying or accepted at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
- Have achieved a minimum of 65% in all major subjects if currently studying
- Be from a previously disadvantaged background
- Have a total household income of less than R350,000 per annum (before tax)
- Not be receiving any other bursary or sponsorship funding
- Not be a child or close relative of a TCTA employee

Step 2: Submit your completed application form (you should have received this via email) along with your academic record to bursaries@tcta.co.za (use “TCTA Bursary 2025” as the email subject line).
Shortlisted candidates will need to submit additional supporting documents, which may include certified copies of your ID document, Matric certificate, proof of university registration, and proof of household income.
