ABOUT THE QUEEN ELIZABETH COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME
The Association of Commonwealth Universities invites students to apply for the second cycle of the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships for the 2020/ 2025 academic years.
The scholarship allows students to pursue a 2-year Master’s Degree in a Commonwealth country with a low- or middle-income (outside their country of residence).

The scholarship covers the following costs: tuition fees, a living allowance (stipend), economy return flights to the host country, and an arrival allowance. On request and with approval, the scholarship can also include a grant for research.
Students who want to make a difference in both their home country as well as the host country, where they are studying, should apply for QECS. The QECS will provide Scholars with a unique opportunity to broaden their perspectives, experience a different culture and country, and create a global network.

Eligibility Requirements for the QECS Scholarship
Before applying, applicants must meet the minimum requirements (please be aware that if you do not meet all of the requirements your application will not be considered).
- You must be a Commonwealth citizen or refugee in one of the following countries:
- AFRICA: Botswana (formerly Botswana), Cameroon (formerly Gabon), Gambia, Ghana. Kenya, Lesotho. Mauritius. Namibia. Nigeria. Rwanda. Seychelles. Sierra Leone. South Africa.
- ASIA: Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, India, Malaysia, Maldives, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka
- CARIBBEAN AND AMERICAS : Antigua and Barbuda (Antigua and Barbuda), Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, St Kitts and Nevis, St Vincent and The Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago
- EUROPE: Cyprus, Malta, United Kingdom
- PACIFIC: Australia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu
- You must hold a degree equivalent to a 2:1.
- You must be planning to pursue a 2-year Masters qualification
- You must plan to study outside your country of citizenship or home country
- You must plan to study at one of these approved institutions in one of the fields listed above.
- You must submit your university application along with the scholarship application
- If you are applying to study in South Africa, you must have a SAQA equivalent before being considered for a scholarship.

- Eligibility

- Details of the course at the host university
- Statements (comprised of three main statements: your study plan in 200-400 words, the impact of your study on development and outreach afterward in 300-500 words, and creating networks in 200-400 words).
- Uploading supporting documentation (including references and copies of your transcripts, degree certificates, Identity Document or passport copy, proof of your application at an approved Institution)
