    Ntimeni Colliery is a coal mining operation managed by Mbuyelo Coal, a South African-based mining company that’s part of the Mbuyelo Group. The company is all about efficient coal production while sticking to sustainable practices and environmental and safety standards.     With a diverse range of mining projects, including Ntimeni Colliery, Mbuyelo Coal is a key player in South Africa’s mining sector. Ntimeni Colliery, owned by Xivono Mining (Pty) Ltd, a Mbuyelo Group subsidiary, exemplifies Mbuyelo’s commitment to using technology and local resources to create value and ensure long-term sustainability. This operation is located in Belfast, within the Emakhazeni Local Municipality.

    About the Mbuyelo Bursary Programme – Fields Covered

    Ntimeni Colliery (Pty) Ltd invites students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. The bursaries are available for undergraduate degree studies in the following fields:

    • Electrical Engineering
    • Geology
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Mining Engineering

    About the Mbuyelo Bursary Programme – Renewal & Selection

    The bursary is renewable each year, depending on satisfactory academic performance. Successful candidates will be contacted within 30 days after the closing date. If you don’t receive feedback by then, please consider your application unsuccessful.

    Eligibility Requirements for the Mbuyelo Bursary

    To apply, you need to:

    • Be a South African citizen
    • Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
    • Be planning to study towards an undergraduate degree in one of the specified fields in 2025
    • Be studying or have provisional acceptance/registration at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
    • Have a strong academic record
    • Achieved a minimum overall average of 60% in your Matric June results (if currently in Matric)
    • Achieved a minimum overall average of 60% for all major subjects at the tertiary level (if currently studying)
    • Preference will be given to students residing within the Emakhazeni Local Municipality (Mpumalanga), but students from other areas can also apply

    How to Apply for the Mbuyelo Bursary

    If you meet the above criteria, here’s how to apply:

    Step 1: Complete the Mbuyelo Bursary Application 2025: https://www.mbuyelo.com/2025-bursaries/

    Enter “busa.hlayiso.com” in the field asking how you heard about the Mbuyelo bursary.

    Step 2: Submit clear copies of the following documents via email to: [email protected] (Insert “Mbuyelo Bursary 2025” in the email subject line).

    These documents are compulsory – missing items may disqualify your application:

    • ID document (certified copy)
    • Latest Matric results (if currently in Matric, certified copy)
    • Matric certificate (if completed, certified copy)
    • Proof of provisional acceptance/registration at a tertiary institution (on institution’s letterhead)
    • Full academic record (if currently studying, on institution’s letterhead)
    • Proof of residence (certified by local authority or Municipality)

    Closing Date

    15 December 2024 – ensure you apply before this date to be considered.
