About the Mbuyelo Bursary Programme – Renewal & Selection
The bursary is renewable each year, depending on satisfactory academic performance. Successful candidates will be contacted within 30 days after the closing date. If you don’t receive feedback by then, please consider your application unsuccessful.
Eligibility Requirements for the Mbuyelo Bursary
To apply, you need to:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Be planning to study towards an undergraduate degree in one of the specified fields in 2025
- Be studying or have provisional acceptance/registration at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
- Have a strong academic record
- Achieved a minimum overall average of 60% in your Matric June results (if currently in Matric)
- Achieved a minimum overall average of 60% for all major subjects at the tertiary level (if currently studying)
- Preference will be given to students residing within the Emakhazeni Local Municipality (Mpumalanga), but students from other areas can also apply
