Founded in 1987, the Hexagon Trust is a charitable non-profit organization based in Durban that aims to provide funding opportunities to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Since its inception, the Trust has supported over 18,000 students who otherwise might not have been able to afford tertiary education.

The bursary is awarded to deserving students based on academic performance, financial need, commitment to their studies, and determination to develop their skills and reach their full potential.
The bursary covers:
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees
- Textbook allowance
Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview with the selection committee before final selection is made. Bursary recipients must contribute their time and expertise to community service during and after their studies and join the Hexagon Students Alumni Association.
Eligibility Requirements for the Hexagon Trust Bursary

- Be 18 years or older
- Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Intend to study towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the listed fields
- Be entering your 1st year of study in 2025

You will need to register an account before you can log in and apply.

Submit clear copies of the following documents with your completed application:
- ID document (certified copy)
- Passport-sized photograph
- Matric June exam results (if currently in Matric, certified copy)
- Matric final results (if completed Matric, certified copy)
- Acceptance letter from your tertiary institution (on institution’s letterhead)
- Parents’ or guardians’ proof of household income (payslip if employed, sworn affidavit if unemployed)
- Motivational letter including your future plans, school career background, and family background
- Letter of recommendation from your school principal
Note: A certified copy of your final results must be submitted as soon as they become available.
Notes About the Hexagon Trust Bursary Application Process
- Online applications will take about 20 minutes – you can save and resume your application later if needed.
- All documents must be certified and submitted online only.
