About the Arup Bursary Programme – Fields Covered
The Arup Education Trust is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. Bursaries are available for degree qualifications in the Built Environment field, including:
- Architecture
- Construction Studies
- Engineering
- Quantity Surveying
- Town Planning
This bursary aims to support students with strong academic merit who lack financial funding.
Eligibility Requirements for the Arup Bursary
To apply, you need to meet these criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be from a designated group per South Africa’s B-BBEE codes (Black African, Coloured, Indian/Asian, disabled)
- Have completed Matric
- Be studying towards a degree in the built environment field (1st-year students are welcome to apply)
- Be studying at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
- Have a strong academic record
- Have a total combined household income of LESS than R30,000 per month

- ID document/ID card (both sides, certified copy)

- Parents’ or guardians’ proof of household income (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, SASSA grant slip if applicable)
- 2 contactable references (full name, organization, contact number, and their relationship to you)
