Siemens is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. Bursaries are available for these fields, identified as “scarce skills” qualifications:
- Bachelor of Engineering Technology
- Electrical Engineering (Heavy and Light Current) (BEng / BSc)
- Electronic Engineering (BEng / BSc)
- Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Mechatronics) (BEng)
About the Siemens Bursary Programme – Service Contract & Selection
Bursary recipients will be required to perform vacation work at Siemens.
Applicants meeting the bursary criteria will be contacted by Siemens for a virtual video interview. Successful candidates will then be awarded a bursary. If you are not contacted, consider your application unsuccessful.
Eligibility Requirements for the Siemens Bursary
To apply, you must meet these criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be between 18 and 25 years old
- Be unemployed
- Be currently in Matric (in 2024) or have completed Matric
- Be planning to study full-time towards one of the listed qualifications in 2025
- Be studying or accepted at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
- Have achieved a minimum of level 5 for English in Matric
- Have achieved a minimum of level 5 for Pure Mathematics in Matric
- Have achieved a minimum of level 5 for Physical Science in Matric
- Have a minimum overall average of 65% for the current year of study (Matric or tertiary)
- Be passionate about Engineering and Technology
- NOT be receiving any other funding (NSFAS/bursary/scholarship etc.)
- Meet the registration requirements of your tertiary institution
Preference will be given to students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
