About the Aspen Bursary Programme – Fields Covered
Aspen is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. Bursaries are available for studies in the following degree qualifications at selected institutions:
- Accounting (BCom)
- Chemistry (BSc)
- Computer Science & Information Technology (BSc)
- Data Science (Bachelor of)
- Engineering (Bachelor of)
- Medicine and Surgery (Bachelor of)
- Microbiology (BSc)
- Pharmacology specializing in Regulatory Affairs (BSc)
- Pharmacy (Bachelor of)
- Supply Chain Management (BCom)
- Taxation (BCom)
While the bursary mainly targets undergraduate studies, Master’s or PhD degrees may also be considered for funding. However, the bursary does NOT cover MBA degrees.
More About the Aspen Bursary Programme – Expenses Covered, Renewal & Selection
The bursary covers:
- Registration fees (up to 100%)
- Tuition fees (up to 100%)
- Prescribed books (up to 50%)
Bursaries are awarded for one academic year, with further funding dependent on Aspen’s budget.
Shortlisted candidates will undergo various checks, including credit, criminal, citizenship, and qualification verifications. If you do not receive feedback, consider your application unsuccessful.
Recipients will need to enter into a written bursary agreement outlining the terms and conditions of the bursary.
Eligibility Requirements for the Aspen Bursary
To apply, you need to meet these criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be studying or planning to study towards a qualification in one of the listed fields
- Be studying or accepted to study at one of the following institutions:
- Traditional Universities: UCT, UWC, SU, UFS, UKZN, UP, UJ, Wits, RU, NWU, UL
- Comprehensive Universities: UNISA, NMU, UniZulu, UMP, SPU
- Universities of Technology: CPUT, DUT, TUT, MUT, VUT, CUT, WSU
- Specialized Institutions: SMU
